The Sassi

Rosa

Narrative voice of the Sassi

Seventy-eight years old. Born in Sasso Caveoso in 1948, forcibly evacuated in 1957, returned by choice in 1996. She has watched Matera transform from Italy's shame to a European capital of culture. She tells the city as someone who carries it inside, not someone explaining it from the outside.
