Frequently asked questions

FAQ

How do I receive the guide after purchase?

Right after payment you'll receive an email with a permanent link (magic link). Open it on your phone, tablet, or computer — no app to download, no account to create. The link is yours forever.

Do I need internet to listen?

For streaming, yes: the guide is delivered in real time and requires a data connection or Wi-Fi. Coverage in Puglia is excellent in historic centres and along the main tourist routes.

Can I listen offline?

Yes, but you need to save it first. On your guide page (the one you receive by email) you'll find a Save for offline listening button. Tap it while connected: you'll see the download progress and, once complete, a ✓ Available offline confirmation. From that point the guide works without a connection on that device. If you switch devices, you'll need to save it again.

Is the voice a real person or AI?

The audio narration is generated with ElevenLabs. Texts, research, source selection and editorial responsibility are curated by Localis. Some stories involve real people connected to the project; others use narrative portraits, always clearly declared on the guide page. Full explanation on our About page.

How does the refund work?

1-click refund within 24 hours of purchase, no questions asked. Write to hello@localis.guide with your email address and the refund is processed the next business day.

Can I give a guide as a gift?

Yes. Buy with your email, then forward the magic link to the person you want to gift it to. The link works on any device, no sign-up required.

Is there a text transcript?

Not currently. The text is embedded in the audio narration. If you have accessibility needs, write to hello@localis.guide and we'll find a solution.

Does it work on iPhone and Android?

Yes, on any device with a modern browser (Safari, Chrome, Firefox). Nothing to install.

Can I listen at home before my trip?

Absolutely — it's one of the best ways to use it. Many listeners hear it on the sofa a few days before the trip, then replay it on location. The link never expires.

How long is a guide?

It depends on the guide. The Bari guides range from about 18 to 30 minutes. Valle d'Itria and Gargano guides are similar. The exact duration is shown on each guide's page.

Can I buy multiple guides together?

Yes — we offer bundles that group several guides at a reduced price. The Bari Complete bundle includes all 6 Bari guides and saves you €9.95 compared to buying them individually. You'll find them in the Pricing section on the homepage.

What languages are the guides available in?

Italian, English, and German. Each language version is written separately — not auto-translated. Not all guides are available in all languages yet; check the individual guide page for details.

Can I listen again after the trip?

Yes, the link is permanent. Many people replay guides after a trip to relive places or better understand what they saw.

Is the content verified?

Yes. Every claim in our guides has a source — historical archives, academic publications, local libraries. You can verify them all on the Sources page.

I can't find the answer I'm looking for. How do I contact you?

Write to hello@localis.guide. We reply within 24 hours on business days.
